Borough Council’s Last ♦ Meeting

(PRESS ARSOCIATIOK TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, December 16. The Lower Hutt Borough Council held its last meeting to-night, because when it reassembles in February it will be under the designation of the Hutt City Council. The Undcr-Sccrclary of Internal 1 Affairs advised thq council to-night that a proclamation declaring the borough to be a city would be made so as to become effective on February 1, 1941. , ’

The Mayor (Mr J. W. Andrews) reported that 47 names had been submitted to a subcommittee, which referred three to the council in order of preference, Hutt, Woburn, and Durham. The council unanimously decided that the name Hutt city be recommended to the Internal Affairs Department.
