INDUCTION OF MINISTER
SERVICE AT AKAROA
The Rev. Mr John Mann, of Marlinborough, was inducted into the charge of the Akaroa Presbyterian Church at Akarua on Thursday evening. The service was conducted by the Moderator, of the .Presbytery, the Rev. Farquhar Gunn, assisted by the Rev. A. D. ilobeils, Shirley, and the Moderator of the charge, the Rev. J. W. Hayward. A large congregation was present. A social was held after the service. A welcome was extended to Mr Mann by Mr T. 11. Morcom, for Hit* Akaroa congregation, and by Mrs Ailcbison, for the women members. Mr It. 1.. l.ewthwaile welcomed the minister on behalf of the rest of the charge.
Specifies were also made by the Mayor iMr F, Davisi, the Rev. Father O'lVleeghan, Canon S. Parr,'and the Moderator (Hie Rev. Farquhar Gunn). Dr. W. J. Edginton gave a recitation, and Mr C. D, Seaicy a song during the evening.
