"New Zealand is making a mighty good war effort. Let no one belittle it,’’ said the Hon. A. Hamilton, a member of the War Cabinet, when addressing the Burnham-trained troopl on Saturday. “Before the struggle goes much further, that will be intensified, and, in support of you who comprise our fighting forces, we at home must give all we have got.” No praise was too high for the part the soldiers were to play, Mr Hamilton said, and this was an appropriate opportunity to repeat a thought he had expressed since the conflict began —the first job Was the war, and the first aim victory. Nothing that they could consider to-day, no matter now personal or important it might appear to be. could be placed before the war and the part they had to play m i<It was the duty of all sections of tne community to place the war first. “I believe it is the duty of the leaders in the community to take max view. . I stand for complete war effort. If (here are arguments, I am prepared lo leave them meantime. This job it too serious.”
