COUNCIL
HALL PROPOSAL APPROVED A proposal made to the Springs County Council at its monthly meeting, that the Springston Hall should be vested in the council as trustee for the residents, was approved and will be referred to a firm of solicitors to prepare the necessary resolutions. Cr. P. V. Bailey said that the hall directors had tried on all .previous occasions to have the property vested either in the Crown or a local body. The chairman (Cr. J. S. Simpson) who. with Cr. Bailey, represented the council at a conference held in Christchurch to discuss the Hospital Board’s extension proposals, said that he was well pleased with the proposals, which were sound and a great improvement upon those outlined a year ago.
