NATIVE UNREST IN INDO-CHINA
Serious Uprisings Reported (Received December 12, JO,BO p.is>) NEW YORK, December 11. Travellers- arriving at Manila from Saigon report serious native uprisings in Indo-China, intensifying the difficulties of the French in maintaining cotrol in* the face of Japanese pressure and hostilities with Thailand. At least 20 risings occurred within a radius of 100 miles at Saigon in the week ended November 25. Aeroplane!
Saigon, in the area where the uiM risings are reported, is in the •ontlH'l west of Indo-Qhina, near the mouth) of the Mekong river. The Bay of) Cara Ranh, the Indo-Chinese WV|L base, is about 200 miles north-weiw] of Saigon.
