IMPRISONMENT FOR TWO MONTHS

JEHOVAH’S WITNESSES IN COURT DUNEDIN. November 29. Three Jehovah’s Witnesses who appeared in Court this afternoon charged with participating in the activities of a subversive organisation, were each sentenced to two months’ Imprisonment. They were George Edward Crellin, Leslie Raymond Franks, and James Ernest Patterson. Crellin asked for leave to appeal. The Magistrate asked upon what grounds he wished to appeal. They had all admitted that they were numbers of this organisation. They would be given the opportunity to consult a solicitor if they so desired. Each man, when directly asked, refused to cease carrying on his activities.
