Fresh Attack on Greeks Planned

MORE PRISONERS TAKEN IN PINDUS AREA (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (Received November 12, 11.30 p.m.) LONDON, November 12. There are indications that after the set-back they received in the Pindus area, the Italians are withdrawing slightly, probably with the object of preparing a fresh attack on the Greek positions. Large numbers of Italian prisoners are still being captured in the Pindus mountains, and these are being brought to Salonika and Janina in scores of vehicles of all descriptions. There were scenes of rejoicing when a big draft of several thousand Italian prisoners arrived in Janina. They were clearly demoralised and were practically without food when captured. Italian aeroplanes are flying over the northern front endeavouring to locate their scattered units and drop food to them. Other enemy machines yesterday bombed many parts of the front, and also a number of towns and villages in the interior of Greece. Greek aeroplanes yesterday carried out heavy attacks on Italian military installations at Valona, and bombed and machine-gunned ships and small craft' in the harbour. On the Greek right wing the weather is vapidly * improving, and the Italians have seized the opportunity to move up reinforcements to their beleaguered forces in Koritza. The Athens correspondent of the “Daily Express” however, says that Italy’s mechanised columns are still stuck in a mud stew. The . Greeks are harassing them from all sides, sniping and machine-gunning them from the hillsides, and also shelling the Italians in some sectors. Albanian rebels are reported to have dynamited and seriously damaged the largest bridge in Albania, over the Maca river.
