ALIENS TRIBUNAL

PROVINCIAL BODIES TO BE APPOINTED [From Our Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, October 1. The number of cases awaiting the attention of the Aliens Tribunal is such that in order to ensure early completion, provincial tribunals are to be appointed. It was learned authoritatively to-day that when the new tribunals have been appointed, the present tribunal will function principally as an organisation to hear appeal". Fresh regulations empowering the appointment of district tribunals, and dealing with enemy aliens generally, are being drafted. The aim of the new regulations will be to accelerate the work now being done by the tribunal.
