UNION JACK CLUB

TO TAB EpITOB OP THE PBEBS.. Sir, —To a member of the public, the letters of Mr H. E. Rutledge are rather amusing. The one and only purpose of a soldiers’ club is or should be to assist our men; your correspondent’s letters rather suggest otherwise. Mr Rutledge’s letters also give, one the impression that he is piqued because other persons have shown a practical desire to assist- our troops. I would suggest that your correspondent’s time would- be better , spent assisting his own organisation, instead of endeavouring to belittle the work of others. I am not connected with either club.— Yours,-etc., . .SYDNEY T. SMITH. August 28,. 1940.
