The Minister for National Service (the Hon. R. Semple) arrived at Greymouth yesterday and last evening addressed a meeting of local body representatives' at Greymouth. He will leave to-day for Westport.’ Mr A. E. Leggett, chief clerk in the railways district engineer’s office, Invercargill, has received advice that he has been appointed on /promotion to a similar position in Christchurch. He will be succeeded in Invercargill by Mr J. J. Hicks, now second clerk in the district engineer’s office at'Dunedin. Mr R. McPherson, Wheat and Flour Controller, rfeturned to Christchurch from Wellington yesterday. Mr D. V. Wilson, president of the New Zealand Footwear Manufacturers’ Association) left for the north by the steamer express last evening. , Mr A, G.
