AUCKLAND PATRIOTIC APPEAL

♦ (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) AUCKLAND, August 27. In view of the need for building up a substantial fund from which to meet the many demands which will be made upon it during and after the war, the Auckland Provincial Patriotic Council has decided to inaugurate an appeal to the public commencing on October 1. It is not proposed to fix any sum as a financial objective, or to limit the period for collection, but the council has decided that the aim for the first six months if the campaign is to be the raising of £250,000.
