The latest details of the air battles over Britain yesterday show that 55 German aeroplanes were shot down, bringing the • total for Saturday and yesterday to 105. Sixteen of the pilots of the 32 British fighters brought down are safe. All hut two of the German aeroplanes destroyed yesterday were shot down in less than an hour. GERMAN AIR RAID ON SCILUS ISLES LONDON, August 26. r , When German airmen during the week-end raided the undefended Scilly Isles, where there are no military objectives, they * dropped 150 bombs.
