ASHBURTON CLUB ELECTS OFFICERS The difficulties of operating the club because of restrictions on the use of petrol were mentioned in the annual report of the Ashburton Motor-Cycle Club at the annual meeting of the club on Saturday evening. Mr R. M. Chambers (president) presided. The report said that the annual reliability trial was a complete success. A new grass hill climbing course had been obtained on Gerard’s station at the Rakaia Gorge. Ten members of the club were now serving with the New Zealand Forces. The balance-sheet showed a small credit balance. Officers elected were:—Patron, Mr H. Brown; president, Mr R. M. Chambers; vice-presidents, Messrs E. J. Watson, G. Bowman, S. Freddy, R. D. Sheehan, W. J. Evans, and T. Blockings; club captain Mr G. Low; vice-captain. Mr R. Baker; committee, Messrs N. Moore, P. Johnston, A. Leask, D. Quinn, C. Boswell, and K. Glossop; secretary. *-Miss iMaida Leask; treasurer, Mr J. R. Leask; auditor, Mr W. J. Dailey.
