WAIMATE SAVAGE CLUB VISITS ASHBURTON
A raiding party of 41 members of the Waimate Savage Club visited the Ashburton Savage Club on Saturday evening and presented a bright programme of items. Great Chief B. S. Runciman of Waimate, was installed by Great Chief 0., G. Vial, of Ashburton. The programme was as follows: —Orchestral items (conductor, Savage C. E. Manchester); vocal solos, Warrior J. H. Smith, ex-Great Chief A. J. Hoskins, and Savage G. Baker; violin solos, Savages M. Roland and P. McLaughlan; vocal duet, Savages G. Baker and N. Hadler; male quartet, Warrior J. H. Smith, Savages G. Baker N Hadler and H. Allington; sketches, Scalphunter F L. G. Aitkan, Brave D. Shaw, Warrior R. W. Bolton and Savage L. E. Ball, also ex-Great Chiefs T. W. Wylie, L. j Collins and N. L. Knell; magician and stories, Savage F. Newmarch; flute solos, Warrior Bolton; harmonica sextette. Savages Ball. T. Ottley, F. Boyes, R. Nolan, G. Watson and A. Palmer; instrumental duet, Savages Ottley and Ball.
