Mr and Mrs Frank Graham, Heaton street, Mrs H. Donovan (Sydney), and Misses Barbara Graham and Janet Kain will leave this morning for a visit to Nelson.

Mrs Shirreff-Hilton (Fendalton) will leave to-morrow for a holiday visit to Mount Cook.

Mr and Mi's Brian Boys (Havelock North), who have been visiting Christchurch. left yesterday for Geraldine to visit Mr and Mrs J. Mowbray Tripp. Silverton.

Dr. R S. J. Fitzgeralu and Dr. Elspeth Fitzgerald (Oamaru), who have been visiting Christchurch for the races, returned home last evening.

Mr and Mrs Harry Menzies and Miss Patricia Menzies (Menzies Bay) are the guests of Mr and Mrs E. J. Cordner, Rossall street.

Mr and Mrs F. W. Parker (Clarence Bridge) are visiting Christchuch.

Mrs F. Banfield (Bealey avenue) is visiting her pai'ents, Mr and Mrs James Wright, Golfhouse, Akaroa. An end of term dance was held in the Students’ Association rooms at Canterbury College last evening. The dance was in aid of the Student Refugee Fund, and was organised by Miss Coila Renai and Mr B. Tizard. Miss Mary Morten (Mount Pleasant) is visiting Mrs C. Penman (Dunedin). Miss April Hargreaves, Durham street, has returned to Christchurch after a visit to Sydney. At her home at Christ’s College yesterday afternoon, Mrs Owen Williams was hostess at a pleasant party given in honour of Mrs B. A. Y. -WynneYorke, whose husband will retire at the end of this term from the teaching staff of Christ’s College. Miss Juliet Williams and Miss Beatrice Flower helped Mrs Williams in the entertainment of her guests, on whose behalf Mrs Wynne-Yorke was presented with an electric jug and toaster. Most of those present, who extended good wishes to the honoured guests, were the wives of members of the college staff.

Madge Elliott and Cyril Ritchard, two players well known in New Zealand. and who, in private life are Mr and Mrs Cyril Ritchard, are having big successes in, London, but in different shows. Madge Elliott is in the new revue, “Swinging the Gate,” at the Ambassadors, and Cvril Ritchard is in Firth Shephard’s new musical show, "Up and Doing,” at the Saville. The marriage will take place next month of Miss Margaret Gillies, Hawke’s Bay, and Dr. Gavin Scholefleld, who has- just returned to Wellington after spending the last two years doing post-graduate work in London hospitals. In October he is to go into camp with the New Zealand Medical Corps, preparatory to serving with the forces overseas.

The lady editor of “The Press” gratefully acknowledges a parcel of knitted goods from “Morven” for men on minesweepers, and knitted goods as a further gift from the Mitcham-Rokeby Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union (per Mrs D. Campbell), also for men on minesweepers. ,
