The sum of £52 15s was raised by the Temuka District High School toward the school’s quota for the Canterbury District Ambulance Fund, the headmaster (Mr J. L. Menzies) reported at the monthly meeting of the Temuka District High School Committee. Since the staffing of the school for 1941 would be based on the average roll of the first four weeks of the third term, the headmaster urged parents who had children of school age to enrol them at the commencement of the third term on September 3. The primary school roll was: Main 398. Watt Lowry 33, High School 111. The Watt Lowry Side School had been painted inside and out and now presented a smart appearance.
