Union, returned from Wellington by the Wahine yesterday. The Hon. Sir B. Heaton Rhodes, the Hon, J. K. Archer, the Hon- T. F. Doyle, the Hop, J, fyall, and the Hon. M. Connelly, members of the hegislativß Council, arrived by the Wahine from Wellington on Saturday. ' Messrs C. Carr, W. M. Denham, and &&J* Kyle, members-of Parliament, returned J to the South Island from Wellington on Saturday. Mr A. J. Saber, assistant engineer-in-chief to the Public Works' Department, has retired on superannuation after more than 42 years’ .service. Mr Saker, who is 69 years of age,, spent his early life In Christchurch, finishing hjseducatidh at the Christchurch Boys’ School, §e has been a member of the Main Mlghways card since 1932.." v *
