MRS CHILTON’S BEQUESTS
■ ♦ “ BIOLOGY SCHOLARSHIP FOR UNIVERSITY Several charitable bequests are provided for in the will of Mrs Elizabeth Chilton (widow of Dr. Charles Chilton, rectof of Canterbury College), who died at Christchurch on July 7. The Public Trustee is executor and trustee. The bequests are:— To the Board of Governors of Canterbury College the sum of £IOOO to apply the income therefrom for the
purpose of founding the “Charles and Elizabeth Chilton memorial scholarship," to be awarded annually to undergraduates in biology, to enable the - student to pursue his or her studies in. biology at Canterbury College. To the Waitaki Boys’ High School £SO, the income from which is to provide an annual prize for photography in memory of the late Lieutenant Frank Chilton. . To the West Christchurch High School, £SO, the interest from which ■ is to provide a prize for the dux • medallist, in memory of Dr. Charles ; Chilton. • To the Christchurch branch of the i Roval New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children (the - Plunket Society) for the purpose's of • Christchurch Karitane Hospital, £IOO. > To St. Andrew’s Presbyterian : Church, as the nucleus of a fund for
