+ DEBATE AGAINST UNIVERSITY The Canterbury College Dialectic Society defended the motion, "That the maintenance of the Monroe Doctrine depends upon the supremacy of the British Fleet.” against the Workers’ Educational Association at the college last evening. The teams were even, and the speaking was of a high standard. The judges. Dr. Jobberns and Mr Smith, awarded the decision to the Workers’ Educational Association, who were represented by Messrs D. Smalley, I. C. MacFarlane. nd L. Warburton. Canterbury College was represented by Messrs M. A. Jermyn, C. Bilcliff, and R. Quentin-Baxter.
