The 'destruction by opossums of ripening poorman oranges and grapefruit is attracting the attention of residents in the Auckland ranges. In many gardens opossums have accounted for a large proportion of the fruit, and nets are in use to prevent them getting into the trees. However, it has been found impracticable to use nets on trees of several years’ growth.
