NATIONAL PATRIOTIC FUND
FOREIGN RESIDENTS MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, June 22. Twice within the last fortnight the Wellington Yugoslav members htove made a substantial contribution tq/the National Patriotic Fund. They trfmtly gave £2O and now individuaiJPglfts, ranging from 10s to £5 and amounting to £23 15s. v have been received? from them. In a letter, the president of the club said that they would do dli they could to help and as now was the time for such action, he had taken up a collection among 18 members. The board is also receiving contributions from other foreign peoples. The Greeks throughout the Dominion are to make a big effort next Friday when those in business are to give the day’s takings and employees a day’s pay. Mr Garland, the Greek Consul, expects that £2OO will be raised. NEW BRIGHTON BOY SCOUTS’ EFFORT A bottle drive organised by the New Brighton boy scouts for the Patriotic Fund realised £4 18s, and a social evening held in the scout hall for the Red Cross Society realised more than £2.
