FRENCH RESIST ADVANCE
Fighting Continues On Loire HEROIC ACTION BY POLES (Received June 20, 12.30 p.m.) LONDON, June 19. A French communique issued to-day states; “The enemy has maintained his pressure on the entire front, but has not made any important advances. France is fighting on till the negotiations are concluded.” To-night’s French radio stated that the Germans had crossed the Loire at several points and were 25 miles from Nantes. The enemy is pushing forward in the direction of Nantes and has reached the River Chere. In the east the Germans have pushed forward to Lyons. Operations continue in Alsace and southern Lorraine. A French military spokesman said that the French still held the left bank of the Loire, except for a few points between Navarre and Orleans. The spokesman repeated that France
