NATIONAL FITNESS CENTRES

' National fitness centres have been established in Christchurch, Rangiora, Mount Pleasant, Kaiapoi. and Heathcote Valley by the Physical Welfare Branch of the Department of Internal Affairs. The centres are under the direction of Miss Joyce Adams and Mr John McDonnell, area recreation officers. The slogan, “Fitness for Service,” is being achieved in each of these districts through vigorous participation in keep fit and recreative gymnastics of the kind recommended by the British Government to all its peoples.
