O’CONNOR BEATS BLOMFIEJEP (press association telegram.) WELLINQTON, (Tune 10. A hard and hectic wrestling bout ended in Dan O’Connor beating Sergeant-Major “Lofty” Blomfield on a penalty fall in the Wellington Town Hall to-night. The score was one fall each, Blomfield having suet cessfully applied ah octopus-clamp and O’Connor having pinned , Blomfield after dating him with tackles and drop-kicks, when, in a vigorous hurly-burly, Blomficjd drove his fist into O’Connor’s face and midriff, instead of the customary forearm or elbow. For this the referee- declared O’Connor the winner.' Blomfield weighed 16st 81b and’O'Connor 16st 101b. M’CREADY V. CORBETT The wrestling match, which is to be staged at the Theatre Royal, Christchurch’, to-morow night, will feature t\vo of the most skilful wrestlers in the country. SatV McCteady, the British Empire champion, and Joe Corbet, of Boston, who h3§ needed only a short time to make himself a warm favourite from one' end of the Dominion to the other. Corbett has not only won support fpr his sparkling and versatile wrestling. but has also* done exceptionally well against strong rivals. Even McCready, who has lost only cine, of the 160-odd matches he has had in New Zealand during the last five "years.: cannot face Corhett with confidence, and has already had to be content with a draw, besides dropping a’ : fall fo the aggressive Bostonian, frothing has meant njoxe tg the
