ANNUAL REPORT
HOME ECONOMICS ASSOCIATION
The annual report of the Home Economics Association, which will be presented at the annual meeting to-night, states that the programmes at the monthly meetings during the year had been varied and instructive. During the year the needlecraft circle had held fortnightly meetings, and members were now working for the Red Cross and the Patriotic Fund. The Drama Circle had also been active and its members had assisted with programmes at the association’s meetings. Travel talks, musical and handwork gatherings, displays and demonstrations of arts and crafts, and a “keepfit” demonstration had been greatly appreciated by members. A talk on health, and discussion on food and the selection of joints of meat had been of great value to housewives. Members had assisted with the sale of health stamps and had entertained soldiers at the Welcome Club. Donations had been sent to the Harmonic Society, the Red Cross, and the Christmas tree fund for the Fresh Air Home. This year the association will celebrate its twenty-first anniversary.
