The Prime xvlinister (the Hon. P. Fraser) has sent the following telegram to Mr T. H. McCombs, member of Parliament for Lyttelton: “1 have pleasure in informing you that Cabinet has approved of a grant for additional accommodation at the Cashmere Public School.” An “old man” wild boar which had been eluding hunters in the Upper Kauaerahga Valley, Thames, for some years met his fate when rounded up by a two-man party and their dogs. The two men found it was all they could do to move the carcase. The boar was not taken without a great tussle, during which one o' the dogs was killed and two others wounded.
