PROGRESS MADE BY SOLDIERS
PRAISE FROM GENERAL DUIGAN INSPECTION OF PAPAKARA CAMP ’. AUCKLAND, April 21. Satisfaction that the soldiers had made all the progress possible in the time at their disposal was expressed by the Chief of the General Staff* Major-General J. E. Duigan, on Saturday, after inspecting men of the 2nd Echelon in training at Papakura. # “You are well turned put, steady in bearing, and obviously fit,” said General Duigan when addressing thq troops. “You have done everything you could have done in "the time you have had here, and I am sure you will be a credit to your division, and that when the test comes you will - measure up to it and behave in the same magnificent manner as is now being displayed by the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force. ' “There is nothing more certain, than that the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force will carry on and do its job in the same way as the Ist New Zealand Expeditionary Force. Goodbye and good luck."
