FRIDAY (Before Mr E. C. Leyvey, S.M.) REMANDED , Arthur Crombie Wilson, who was charged with using obscene language in a public place, was remanded to appear on February 16. TRAFFIC CASES Alexander McKenzie Fergusson was convicted and fined 10s on a charge .of negligent driving, and fined 10s on’ a charge of failing to report an accident. He was ordered to pay costs on each charge. Police evidence was that Fergusson, in making a left turn, had struck a cyclist by cutting across his path, and had not reported the accident. Mr D. W. Russell, who appeared for defendant. said that Fergusson was a country, man and had not been in the city long. He was probably not quite, conversant with his responsibilities on the matter. The following traffic offenders were convicted and fined (payment of costs being ordered) as follows, unless otherwise stated;. — - ■ Riding cycle without light: William Baldwin, 10s; Edward Herbert Bunny, costs only; John Evans, 10s; OlWyn Mary Kathleen Evans. 10s; Amelia May Flutey, convicted and discharged; Bert George, 10s; William Hanlon, costs only; Victor Gwen McAloon, 10s; Des-mond-Norton, costs only; Gladys,lsabel. -Olsen, costs only; Ronald William Secord, costs only; Arnold Turnbull, costs only; James Webb, costs • only. Ronald Tomes was fined 20s for riding a bicycle without a light, and 20s (no costs) on a drunkenness charge. Cutting corner; Wraymond Jack Booth, 20s. Failing to give way: May Bradley, £2; Leslie Ben Johnson, £2, and on a second charge of having no warrant of fitness, costs only. Driving a motor-van without due care: James Sterritt Cairns, 20s. Proceeding against a signal: Hubert Francis Kingsbury Hayman, 20s. Driving a motor-car without due care: Alfred Pedder. 20s, and for having no warrant Pedder was fined 20s; Edward Charles Robinson, 20s; Cyril George Sweeney, charge dismissed. Driving . motor-cycle without a licence: Cyril Rhodes, 10s. Driving, motor-car' without regulation lights: Leslie Foster Seaton, 10s. Cycling on footpath: Charles Tulley, 10s,.- -• ■ ■ ■"
