The Hon. P. C. Webb, Minister for Labour, returned to Wellington yesterday from the north.

Hamilton, Leader of the Opposition, has returned'to Wellington from the centennial celebrations to commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi. The Rev. Father Joseph Liu, a Chinese priest who for three years has been touring the world on mission work, has arrived at Wellington. The Rev. Father J. Gilbert, M.S.C., of Sydney, and the Rev. Father F. B. Seward, of Lincoln, were passengers from the north on the steamer express yesterday morning. Group Captain L, M. Isitt arrived in Christchurch by air yesterday to carry out the passing out inspection of a course of pupils at the Royal New Zealand Air Force Station, Wigram, to-day. • Mr A. H. Nordmeyer, M.P., Mr C. Carr, M.P., and Mr T. H. McCombs, M.P., arrived from Wellington by the steamer express yesterday morning. Sir Robert Anderson, of Invercargill, a member of the Local Government Loans Board, was an arrival from the north by the steamer express yesterday. A cablegram printed yesterday stated that Flight Lieutenant L. C. Morrison was coming to New Zealand in connexion-with the Empire air training scheme. : The initials-were wrongly transmitted. The officer concerned js Flight Lieutenant I. G. Morrison. .Flight Lieutenant Morrison gained his flying certificate with the Canterbury Aero Club at Wigram five years ago, when he left for England to join the Royal Air Force, with which he has- received his fulltraining, recently completing, a special course in navigation.
