WARNING TO THE FREE STATES
GERMAN BRUTALITY IN POLAND (Received February 4, 11.30 p.m,) LONDON, February 3. The Amsterdam newspaper “Handelsblad,” commenting on the Vatican broadcasts, condemns German brutality in Poland, and says that it should be a warning to the Western free States to form a wall against barbarism and against despotism. Allied Scientific Research—-The Earl Of Suffolk, the distinguished British scientist, has been appointed liaison officer in Paris as a first step towards the co-operation bi British and French scientists on war problems, It is intended, to have a complete exchange of information and a pooling of knowledge, A French liaison officer is being appointed to London. It is revealed that German scientists interned in France are being released to assist French research experts.—London, Feb. 3.
