Y.M.C.A. PRESIDENT RETIRES

MR J. L. HAY SUCCEEDSTO OFFICE

After nine years as president, Mr D. E. Parton presided over his last meeting of the board of directors of the Young Men's Christian Association last evening, and it was decided to hold a farewell gathering in his honour at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, January 30 at the Young Men's Christian Association rooms.

Mr J. L. Hay, who succeeds Mr Parton as president, has been interested in Young Men's Christian Association work from his early years; and during the Great War was supervising secretary of the Young Men's Christian Association, serving in France and Egypt. In this work he so .distinguished himself that he was awarded the 0.8. E., and was invested by the King at Buckingham Palace.
