COMMUNISTS AND NAZIS IN U.S.
Foreign Conspiracy Alleged
REPORT OF DIES COMMITTEE
(Received January 4, 8 p.m.) T WASHINGTON, January 3. " The Dies Committee on UnAmerican Activities, reporting to Congress, stated: "A careful examination of the facts justifies, the assertion that the Communist Party of the United States is a foreign conspiracy masked as a political party. "The German-American Bund receives its inspiration ' and programme direction from the Nazi Government. The Bund is similar to the Nazi groups built up in Austria and Czechoslovakia before annexation." The, committee alleged that the American League for Peace and Democracy was subservient to the Communist Party. Ten or 12 of the 48 unions in the Congress of Industrial Organisations were "more than tinged with Communism."
