COMEDY PRODUCTIONS AT THEATRE ROYAL
DON NICOL IS LEADING COMEDIAN Don Nicol, who needs no introduction to Christchurch audiences, is the leading comedian of the Celebrity Comedy Company, which will bring two excellent shows to the city this month. Having made great successes of his roles in "The White Horse Inn," "Balalaika," and "The Desert Song" recently, Don Nicol will be a popular member of the new company. Two of the funniest shows ever written, "Charley's Aunt," and "Are You a Mason?" will be presented in Christchurch, the first opening at the Theatre Royal on Saturday, January 13. Both shows proved immensely popular with theatregoers in the North Island during the company's recent tour there. Many well-known artists are included in the company, and the feminine lead opposite to Don Nicol is taken byShirley Ann Richards, the beautiful Australian film star. ■■ ■ . Others in the cast are John Fleeting, Lane Patterson, and Mary Duncan. The plans will open at the D.I.C. next Tuesday." -
