HAYSTACK ON FIRE
Spontaneous combustion . caused a haystack on - the property ■,J. Bell, Allehton, to catch alight ■ last evening. The alarm was given at 9.40 o’clock, -and the Ashburton Volunteer Fire Brigade, which answered the call promptly,: soon had the - fiT . e snisKed ' Damage to the stack was done chiefly, by water, little of the hay being burnt. •
