l PUKEKO ARRIVES WITH LAUNCH AND SCOW ; With a launch and a scow in tow, j the Richardson steamer Pukeko ar-f rived at Lyttelton about midnightf last Gisborne. | The scow is the Victus, which is| to go to Timaru to be used on the| harbour works there, and the launch! is the Kirata, one of the launches f used as a tender for overseas ships i loading meat in the Gisborne road- | stead. She has both benzine, and \ Diesel engines which can be geared | up alternately, and together, and is | capable of a speed of more than 12 <• knots. The trio left Gisborne at 2 p.m. '; on Saturday, and had an uneventful trip until off Lyttelton Heads early , last evening, when a south-west wind and rain were encountered.
