Major-General B. C. Freyberg, V.C., Officer Commanding the 2nd New Zealand Expeditionary Force, visited Christchurch on Saturday. ' He arrived from the North Island by the steamer express in the morning, and, after meeting members of the New Zealand Staff Corps and attending a civic, reception, he inspected the military camp at Burnham. MajorGeneral Freyberg visited the Canterbury Officers' Club in the afternoon and returned to Wellington by the steamer express at night. The Hon. Mr Justice Hunter was an arrival in Christchurch by the steamer express on Saturday morning. ... . Dr. C. P. McMeekan, lately of Massey Agricultural College, arrived in Christchurch on Sunday preparatory to taking up his appointment as Professor of Agriculture (Animal Husbandry) at Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln.
