"Spread Sunshine, Scatter Joy"

Young Citizens The other day a letter jell with an important plop into Lady Gay’s letter box. “Lady Gay! Oh, Lady Gay,” it seemed to say. Open me quickly. I’m most interesting.” Of course, as you know, Lady Gay loves opening letters, and it wasn’t long before she had the envelope in her hands. And what do you think was inside? Why, a cheque for £ls from the Mayor of Christchurch, for our Christmas Mission. This is a big honour, girls and boys. It shows that the city recognises that you are trying to be real citizens. You should be very proud. Things are very busy on board “The Press Ship” now, and Lady Gay and Mother Bunch are going round and found and round. All next week the packing of the Christmas parcels will continue till the distribution takes place on Saturday, December 23. And who will win “The Press Ship” gold badge for the best record of work for the year. And who will carry off “The Press Ship”' silver badges for literary and art work? The answer to these questions will be in next Saturday’s Christmas number. Just a week more, girls and boys, and then Father Christmas will come down the chimney, with his big rosy smile, and his pack of toys. LADY GAY.
