THEFTS FROM MAIL BOXES

DOORS BROKEN OPEN A number of thefts from private mail boxes at the Post Office are at present being investigated by the police. The thefts have occurred during the last few weeks the boxes having been prised open. • . Yesterday four boxes were opened between 1 o’clock and 2 o’clock in the morning. A chisel or some such instrument is stated to have been used as a lever to force the doors open.
