In the Canterbury secondary schools’ tennis tournament Rangi-ruru had won the senior singles, senior doubles, and junior doubles. In the inter-school tournament, tire school had won in the A, B, and C grades, though the B grade title was won from the Girls’ High School only by a stroke. In swimming, pupils had gained 142 awards for life saving, including five awards of merit, and three pupils had gained the bar to the award of merit. Thirty-seven pupils had passed the St. John Ambulance first aid examination. In the matriculation examination the school had gained 84.5 per cent, of passes, and in the school certificate examination 91 per cent, of passes. pie cooking, dressmaking, and art classes had been well attended. After the prizes had been presented Archdeacon A. K. Warren briefly addressed the pupils, urging them to value the freedom they enjoyed in New Zealand, and to be grateful for the many blessings that were theirs.
