THANKSGIVING SERVICE

CHRISTCHURCH CENTENNIAL CELEBRATIONS A national thanksgiving civic service in connexion with the centennial cele--brations will be held at Lancaster Park on Sunday afternoon, January 7. The Rt. Rev. J. Lawson Robinson will preside, and the Bishop of Christchurch (the Rt. Rev. C. West-Watson) will give the address. Prayers will be read by the Rev. W. A. Burley, and the Scriptures will be read by the Rev. L. J. Boulton Smith. The singing will be led by the Salvation Army Band and by the Knox Church quartet party. Loud-speakers will be installed. A first-aid party from the St. John Ambulance will be in attendance. The members’ stand will be reserved for representative citizens. The speakers and quartet party will occupy a small stand facing the grandstand. A collection will be taken up to defray expenses* -
