LAKE FORSYTH OUTLET

RAISING OP LOANS MINISTER TO BE ASKED TO START WORK r The Wairewa County Council at its meeting on Monday completed all negotiations for raising loans amounting to £SOOO, the district’s contribution for the permanent drainage scheme of Lake Forsyth. The county loans consist of £4OOO raised over the whole county district and £IOOO loan raised over a special rating area. The balance of the £15,000 estimated to be the total cost of making the outlet will be found by the Government, as agreed upon by. the Hon. R. Semple, Minister for Public Works, and the County Council. The county chairman (Mr F. Coop) said he would approach the Minister at an early date and ask him when work on the permanent outlet would be started. He said the council had the loan money ready to pay into the public account as soon as it was required.
