MARTIN’S HOUSE OF HELP CHRISTMAS APPEAR Once again Christmas is nearly here, It is said-that once again it is a war .Christmas. But Christmas is a sure sign of the final conquest of evil by good, This is its most important message. We can, if we like, make this Christmas a precious memory in spite of everything—by letting it be one of de-, termined trying to make others happier, especially those who in one way or another are less happily placed than ourselves. ■ There are many ways and directions in which we can do this. And, looking back we may find this one of the happiest Christmas seasons of pur lives, far better than if we had aimed only at self-pleasing indulgence. May I ask you to- consider the City Mission work at St. Martin’s House of Help, and the Guest House when you think of the various ways in which you can help to cheer others? Fortunately the number of poor folk are very much less than a few years back, but still there are some., We want to sev. that none of those few we know are short of some festive fare, and no such Child without some Winsome remembrance of the day from our toy cave. Will you help US by sending a dona, tlon, addressed to Rev. P. Revell, St. Martin’s House of Help. Christchurch? All will be acknowledged in The Press.” — 6
