THE New Zealand Government has X decided Jto grant for 1940 five ITeterinary Scholarships, each £IOO per mnum. with the addition, in the case >f students entering the Sydney University Veterinary School, of an annual •etum fare between New Zealand and Australia. The scholarship extends to students desiring to train at a Veteriniry College in the United Kingdom, but n this case no transport allowance is 'ranted. . ■ . . Intending applicants must have jassed the University Entrance Examnation, and preference will be given to hose who have passed the Medical Intermediate Examination (or its ■quivalent in the required Soology, Botany, Physics, and Organic ind Inorganic Chemistry). The scholarships are tenable for five 'ears for students entering the Sydney University Veterinary School, with a ■eduction to four years in the case of hose students whose qualifications in :ertain subjects entitle them to remision of the first year’s course. The luration of the scholarship for students raining in the United Kingdom is five rears, with a reduction to four in smuar circumstances. _ ’ _ , , Students attending the Sydney School v-ill be required to undertake pracical training in veterinary, work in Tew Zealand to the satisfaction of the Department of Agriculture during the hree months’ annual vacation.
