TROTTING NOTES A Reminder Nominations for the Timaru Trotting Club’s meeting will close at 9 p.m. on Monday. Lawn Derby Lawn Derby, after making an attempt at New Brighton to-day on the record of 2min 0 2-ssec for a grass track, held by Van Derby, will be taken to Auckland, and at the Waikato meeting next Saturday will attempt to lower the course “ record of 2min 4 l-ssec. held by Impromptu. For the Championships The Tasmanian-bred man;, Evicus, has been returned to her owner, Mr H. Rudd, and she will be got ready for the Inter-Dominion Championships, to be held at Perth in February. Evicus, who had possibly reached the top of her form when she first arrived in New Zealand some years ago, has not been a very consistent stake-earner, but she has been a good, honest race mare. Her brother, Icevus, winner of the Free-for-All and one of the most consistent pacers in commission, will probably fulfil engagements at the Auckland summer meeting before being taken to Australia. The trainer, J. Young, will be in charge and will pvobalply drive the little cream pacer in the championship. Usually the driver is R. Young. Bracketed on Totalisator At New Brighton to-day, the following horses will be bracketed on the totalisator:— Improvers’ Handicap—Becky Direct and Coquette. Mace Memorial—Navy Blue and Pot Luck. Saltaire Handicap—Tan John and L iptain Bolt. New Brighton Handicap—Token and Battlefield, Wee Potts and Frisco Lady. Electric Handicap—Donor and Repeal.
