"Spread Sunshine, Scatter Joy"

THIS IS IMPORTANT First of oil—and this is important—t-d on’t be late with your Christmas competitions. Our Christmas number conies out on the Saturday before Christmas, and the judging is a big work. . Lady Gay has so much that she would like to say, ana not very much room to say it. Shipmates and Sunbeams seem to have set themselves to do extra special work this Christmas. Parcels are rolling in, and fairs and various functions are being held everywhere. ■ ' • ' Here is a beautifully dressed doll, sent by the Gay i'als, of Eiffelton. It is going straight on to the Christmas tree at the party which Shipmates and Sunbeams give to the Waltham orphanage each year; several fat parcels bring a wonderful consignment of gifts from the Jolly Juniors, Oamaru. The knitted toys are specially well made. Some of these are for the Waltham orphanage, too. Then there is that interesting collection from the Wee Gifts Club, with lavender bags, hot water bottle covers, aprons; the tightly packed boxes from the Happy Helpers Club, Woodend. And more and more and more. Lady Gay could go on for ever, if she had space. But she thanks you one and all. m And —just three more Saturdays till Christmas. • LADY GAY.
