CONSTRUCTION WORK AT WOODBOURNE • buildings ready by CHRISTMAS
“All buildings, except some permanent cottages, for the new a. training school at Woodboume will be finished by Christmas,” the Hon RSemple (Minister for Public Works) said yesterday. The Minister flew from Wellington to Blenheim in the morning and inpected the^aerodrome work before motoring to Chxistchurcn. The three hangars covered mately two acres and a by Minister. Each measured 255 feet oy felt The other buildings were going up apace, but more carpenters were S stm needed. The landing groumi was in excellent condition for framing operations. The air staff at Woodboume will number 572. . . . . All the construction is being earned out by Mr F. Musgrove, of Christchurch, whose work, both on contract and percentage bases, was praised by ■ the Minister. He had now. seen defence work being earned out in all parts of New Zealand, except at the Taieri, and he was delighted with the progress. ‘
