COUNCIL TENDERS VALUED AT £ 13,453 Tenders for machinery and goods needed by the Municipal Electricity Department, totalling in value £13,458, were approved by the Christchurch City Council last evening. One tender alone, for network protectors, was valued at £4795. Details of those accepted are:—. Three-phase transformers, Metropolitan Vickers Company, at £2295; distribution transformers for use at sub-sta-tions, Thompson and Dorreen, £2955, street lighting fittings. National Electrical Company, £3237; network protectors Messrs Turnbull and Jones, Ltd., £4795; marline (for use of overhead lines department), Messrs John Burns and Company, £176. . Tenders accepted for other departments of the council included that of Messrs P. and D. Duncan, at £ll6, for a rotary broom; the tender of the International Harvester Company, at £331, for a tractor with mower attachment. ■
