STAFF DANCE

SHELL COMPANY, LTD. GUESTS AT MAYFAIR LOUNGE After a lapse of almost six years the Christchurch staff of the Shell Company of New Zealand, Ltd., has revived the custom of holding. an annual dance. This gathering, held last evening at the Mayfair Lounge, was most successful, and many guests enjoyed the hospitality of the staff. Arrangements had been made by a committee comprising Misses Joan Ambridge, Thirza Ellen, Gwen Burke, Messrs M. Hunter, S. H. Oswin, P. B, Evans, J. A. Burrage. and M. Carson (honorary secretary). K. Allison, A. R. Blank, E. J. Chennells, H. S. Cook, L. Cordery, R. French-Wright, L, Stevens, and J. Mawson Stewart, arranged a combined concert and mannequin parade. The vocal soloists, Mesdames tram Willcox, E. J. Chennells, Miss Moxley, Mr A. E. Hobbs, and Mr Mawson Stewart, jun., were accompanied l by Miss Atkinson, and Mrs Wi L. Cook was accompanist for Mr Clifton Cook’s; violin solos. Mr French-Wright played pianoforte selections, while the season’s fashions were shown by the following mannequins: Mrs R. A. Blank, Mrs W. Price, Mrs S. Milne, Misses Patricia Cook, Nola Duckworth, Thyra Hill, Patricia Simpson, Prudence Todd, Maureen Campbell, and Robin Stevens. Mr C. S.
