CHRISTCHURCH HAS MORE BIRTHS FEWER DEATHS IN AUGUST There were 13 more births and 21 fewer deaths in ChristcHurch -lari month than in August, 1938, according to the monthly vital statistics supplied by the Registrar of Births, Deaths, and Marriages. For the eight months of 1939 births increased by 97 and deaths by 85. In this period* there were 96 more marriages than in the corresponding period of 1938..
