HERR HITLER’S REPLY TO BRITAIN
Summary of Terms Reported In Washington “PREPARED TO NEGOTIATE WITH POLAND” Possession of Corridor and Danzig Made A Prerequisite (UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (Received August 31, 10.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 31. The Washington correspondent of the “New York Times” states that according to apparently authentic information received in diplomatic circles, Herr Hitler, in replying to Britain, made four points:— (1) He was prepared to negotiate with Poland. (2) He desired the Polish negotiator with the Reich to visit Berlin to-day. ' (3) Before undertaking any territorial guarantees, he would have to consult Russia. fc (4) Before signing any agreement with Poland he would have to consult Britain. These points were apart from the well-understood condition that Herr Hitler is demanding as a prerequisite the immediate possession of the-corridor and - Danzig. * . Replying to Britain, he is reported to have declared ; that the prerequisites of some other points were unsatisfactory, but urged that the negotiations be kept open. London is understood to be entertaining a genuine belief that Herr Hitler for his part will. also endeavour to keep the negotiations open. \
